Our School Sport Partnership (SSP) was originally created in 2003 by Martin Eley and known as the Bognor Regis SSP. At that time it involved 5 secondary schools and 23 primary schools. In 2006 the partnership expanded to encompass all 10 secondary schools and 54 primary school across Chichester and Bognor Regis. The partnership was then re-named West Sussex West. Our partnership provides opportunities for nearly 18,000 young people in West Sussex West.
We have a fantastic team of SSCos working in the partnership with each secondary school and a family of primary schools. The primary schools each have a primary link teacher (PLT) to develop sporting opportunities. We ensure that all young people are catered for by offering a variety of competitions and inclusive festivals. SSCos ensure young people can enjoy and particpate in activities on their school site and have the opportunity to work with young people from other schools at central venue events. Read more about some of these events in our news section.
We have developed sports leaders across all Key Stages and have now been able to develop a Leadership Academy. Our leaders support festivals, competitions, sports days and sports clubs! Read more about our leaders in the leadership section.
We have collated a great bank of resources for you all to use. There are many useful curriculum resources in addition to out of hours resources; such as certificates, rules and competition information. Check out the resources section to find out more.
Look out for some exciting new opportunities in the partnership this year. We will be holding our 2nd annual Triathlon, our first ever rowing competition and two new sportshall athletics competitions for primary and secondary students! This is in addition to all the other fab annual festivals and competitions already delivered in the SSP.
