Leadership Academy

West Sussex West is proud to have the first leadership academy in Sussex!  The academy offers an opportunity for leaders from each of the partner secondary schools to have additional training every half term at BRCC. 

Secondary schools nominate their finest 2 leaders from KS4 or KS5 to attend the academy.  These high performing leaders are selected for their commitment, reliability, knowledge and/or enthusiasm.

The leaders have been provided sessions on:

• Creating a sports council
• Inclusion
• Multi skills
• Organising a speedstack inter form competition

Academy leaders become role models in their individual secondary schools, filtering back ideas and training to their peers.  The leaders are currently planning a major summer event called 'Olympic Dreams' to be held at Chichester University in the summer term.  The event will involve dozens of young people from local Chichester primary schools taking part in a fantastic day of sport which will be planned, organised and run by the academy leaders.  Watch the news pages to find out more!

Our first year of the leadership academy has been a great success!  Secondary schools will have the opportunity to nominate the next group of academy leaders in the summer term.  We look forward to our second year of the academy going from strength to strength!
