This competition is an SSP wide event and is available to any school. Schools will be invoiced by the SSP for the attendance of this event at the end of term. Any school with a package recevie the SSP rate:  x1 team=£50, x2 teams=£75, x3 teams = £100.

Non package schools: 1 team= £100, 2 teams= £125, 3 teams= £150

PLEASE NOTE: THIS COMPETITION CONSISTS OF THE FLOOR AND VAULT ROUTINES ONLY.

This gymnastics competition is for NOVICE gymnasts in Yr 3/4 who are taking part in less than an hour per week at a registered British Gymnastics Club and have not been a gym club member in the last 2 years

All the resources needed to prepare children for the competition have been attached.  Children could prepare in Gym lessons or at an out of hours club. The routines at this level are very accessible for staff and children to prepare.  Please view the attached cards, for example the vault routine simply involves children jumping onto and off a bench. The vault card (see attached) shows an option A and B.  We will set the vault up to match Vault B with a bench.

Judging will be very low key, having more of a festival feel to ensure a comfortable environment for younger children.

Teams are to be comprised of a minimum of 6 maximum of 8. The highest scoring 6 will score. Teams can be the same sex or mixed.  To encourage the inclusion of boys in the team there will be a 0.5 points bonus added to the overall team score for each boy included, to a maximum of 1.0 point. 

The highest scoring 6 gymnasts from each team out of the two disciplines (Floor and Vault) will count towards the overall team total.
