On Friday the 27th April the Arena Sports Centre facilitated ‘Infant Agility’. The event was attended by a number of schools, namely: Rose Green Infants; Bersted Green Infants; Downview Primary; St.Mary’s Primary; Nyewood Infants; Southway Primary; Edward Bryant Primary and Bishop Tufnell Infants. In total there were over 300 children who took part and it was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces take on new challenges. The children were allocated into teams upon arrival which were comprised of children from different schools as well as their own. The children worked well within their teams and were a credit to their school and themselves given their young age, it was a very brave thing to do! ‘Infant Agility’ consisted of 10 separate activities which the children participated in, on a timed rotation basis. The rotations ensured that all children were able to take part in every activity and the assisting Youth Sports Leaders also helped to ensure that all the children were engaged. In fact, a special thank you ought to be given to the Youth Sports Leaders who led the activity stations and managed the teams, they were ambassadors to The Regis School and without them the event could not have taken place.
During the closing ceremony, certificates were given to all children who participated in recognition of their hard work and dedication. In addition, individual certificates were also presented to those children who achieved either the highest scores on individual events or the fastest times.
