Quadkids Bognor Area 06/06/18

The annual, bognor area, Quadkids athletics competition took place on the 6th June at The Regis School. There were a total of 13 teams competing, included in this figure are schools that brought two teams along with them. Teams consisted of a minimum of 4 boys and girls. Each athlete competed in a 75m sprint, a 600m run, a vortex throw and long jump. Their individual times and distances were then accumulated with their teammates to reveal their team's overall score.

The young athletes competed with spirit and their determination was evident on their faces as they crossed the finish line during the track events. They should all be proud of their hardworking attitude and are a true credit to themselves and their schools.

A special thank you to The Regis School Sports Leaders who gave up their afternoon to help score, time, place and assist the young athletes at the event.

The competitive nature of the event was heightened with the knowledge that even if one team became the winner of the event, they did not automatically progress onto the next stage. They only qualified for the Sussex School Games if their score was higher than the Chichester winners'.

The top three teams from the Bognor Quadkids were as follows: in third place were Bishop Tufnell; in second place were Downview and in first place were Aldingbourne Team 1. A huge congratulations to those teams and a massive congratulations to all teams who participated! Aldingbourne had a higher score than Southbourne (Chichester area winners) so a special congratulations and Well Done, they will represent the area at the Susssex School Games!
