‘GET UP AND DANCE’       THE ARENA              DATE:  FRIDAY 24 MAY 2024

The WSW SSP will be hosting ‘Get Up and Dance’ – a celebration of dance/drama performed by local primary children across the partnership.  The aim is to get as many young people involved as possible and show that they can have great fun sharing their performances in front of a live audience.

 Each participating school will be responsible for devising their piece of dance/drama of not more than 5 minutes duration – including putting together the music for the piece.  However, to make this as stress free as possible for teachers involved, we can possibly sign-post you to the following support: 

Each school can choose their own theme, for which we would require a short written description – but we have listed a few ideas below:

Art in Motion – using famous artwork as inspiration – bring it alive through movementHeroes and VillainsHappiness is ……..Topic related piece

The list could be endless !

 An overall winner will be chosen from each age category (Y1-3) (Y4-6).  Awards will also be given to schools gaining the highest scores in the following categories:

ChoreographyDrama skillsConcept interpretationPerformance skillsStagingCostume (including Hair/Make-up)  Costume preferable but not obligatory
